So every week when I try to write this email I just can't even capture
a fraction of what happens out here! It is a crazy adventure!
This week we were going through old investigator records and trying to
contact them again. We went and visited one. Turns out she speaks
perfect English (always a small tender mercy) and lived in Gold Coast
Australia where Wallwork Shimai loves! She just came back about 3
weeks ago and will only be here for about 3 months. But she is super
prepared and it was such a miracle we found her!
We also got transfer calls last night........ I have been here in
Asahikawa for 6 months! And I have been given the opportunity to stay
here another transfer. Wallwork Shimai and I are staying comps as well
as getting another comp Free Shimai! We will be a trio! I also became
Sister Training Leader for our zone. It is just over my comps and
another companionship of sisters. I just get to go on splits with them
and go to mission meetings. I was a little shocked to be staying for
another transfer but I found this in the ensign and it gave me a lot
of comfort.
I learned that the Lord is truly aware of every one of us; He doesnft
send His missionaries to places without a reason. I learned that when
we are assigned to an area, the Lord wants to use us there as
instruments to accomplish His work. When we put ourselves in His
hands, miracles happen and hearts soften, even when we donft see how
this is possible.
Importantly, I learned that my mission president, like other Church
leaders, was truly called of God to be His servant. The Lord qualifies
our leaders to receive the revelation and inspiration we need for the
welfare of our souls.
I am forever grateful for the experiences that came as a result of
not being transferred.
I'm not sure why I stayed but I guess there is still work for me to
do! I know that the Lord is truly leading this work!
Love you all
Kempner Shimai
